BLOCKED (Boston Terriers Hockey Book 3) Page 16
Pausing, I take in her body from head to toe, and on the way back up, I get sidelined by the wet patch on her panties. I trail my finger from her clit to her entrance and back again. “Fuck me. You’re so wet.”
She reaches behind her back, undoing her bra and tossing it. “I can’t wait any longer. Touch me, please,” she begs.
Both hands cup her tits, my thumbs rubbing over her rosy nipples. Her breasts are fuller than I remember, and I can’t get enough of the sight of my darker hands against her fair skin. Lowering, I take a taut tip between my lips, swirling my tongue around until she’s panting. Moving over to the other side, I rake my teeth over her nipple and groan when she pulls my hair. I’m barely hanging on here. I promised myself I’d take things slow, but she’s testing every bit of my resolve. All I can think about is burying my cock inside her and never stopping. I’ve only just begun touching her and this is already so much more intense than anything I’ve experienced before. Our deep connection resonates in our every touch.
I have to remind myself to slow down. I only get one chance for our first time, and I want it to be everything she dreamed of.
Chapter Twenty-Four
Maddie
Shaw peels my panties down so slowly I think I might combust. Once I’m naked, I reach for the button on his jeans. He brushes my fingers away and jumps to his feet, shedding the remainder of his clothes with the speed of the Flash.
He settles between my legs once more, only this time he’s on his stomach. Raising both my legs over his shoulders, he shoots me a shark-like grin before swiping his tongue from front to back along my slit.
I thread my fingers through his thick curls, tugging and urging him on. He feasts on my pussy, licking and sucking until the pleasure is so intense it’s painful. My head thrashes side to side on the pillow as he drives me higher and higher. My legs trembling uncontrollably, he clutches my hips, holding me still for his tongue's vicious assault.
“Shaw,” I shudder the word as I come undone under his wicked mouth. Pleasure like I’ve never felt explodes from my center, radiating outward until I’m flushed and weak from the mind-blowing experience.
Panting, I find Shaw grinning proudly, his lips shining with the proof of my orgasm. He swipes his forearm across his mouth and climbs up, kneeling between my legs.
The tip of his thick, hard cock shines with pre-cum, tempting me. “It’s your turn now.” I start to sit up, but his palm on my chest presses me back down. His fingertips skate over my skin, between my breasts, gliding down my stomach, eliciting shivers throughout my body.
“You’re not going anywhere.” His deep, commanding husk has my toes curling. Gripping his cock in his fist, he pumps up and down twice before pressing the head to my entrance. Holding my breath, I wait for him to push inside me for the first time. He enters me in one long thrust, and the air expels from my lungs on a pleasure-filled moan.
Shaw groans, pausing. “You feel amazing.”
Drawing back, he begins to move. My thighs clench his lean hips and my legs wrap around his back. Lowering until our chests touch, he kisses me. Between his tongue in my mouth and his cock in my pussy, I’m drowning in bliss. We couldn’t be closer, and yet it’s still not enough. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of Shaw.
Clutching his shoulders, my nails dig into his skin. His muscles flex under my fingertips as he shifts his weight. Seizing one of my thighs, he raises it toward my chest, grinding my clit with every deep thrust. Lost in the abundance of emotions and sensations assailing me, my eyes drift closed.
“Look at me,” he grits, and my lids snap open. “You’re mine now.”
“I always have been,” I pant. Rapture coils between my legs, winding tighter and tighter until I crack, my release bowing my back as it radiates through me.
“Fuck, yes.” Shaw clenches his teeth, the tendons in his neck standing out. He slams into me twice more, and then his thrusting becomes erratic as his orgasm rockets through him. Gripping my thighs painfully, he grunts, releasing inside me.
Falling forward, he buries his face against my neck, our chests still heaving. My arms hold him close as I savor this moment. I’ve never felt so wrung out and content in my life. My limbs are loose, and if Shaw wasn’t lying on top of me, I feel light enough to float away.
He raises his head after a couple of minutes, his deep, penetrating gaze showing me how much our love making meant to him. “We’re pretty incredible together.” He smiles.
“That we are. In every way too.”
He rolls to the side, taking me with him until our positions are reversed and I’m lying on his chest. “We could’ve been doing this all this time.” He shakes his head. “How fucking dumb were we?”
I laugh. “Pretty freaking dumb. But at least we smartened up. Ask me how I feel about attending B.U. now.”
“How do you like it here?”
“Best decision I ever made.”
“So, how are things with Marshall and Shaw?” Ava asks.
I shift my weight on the cold seat as my gaze drifts down, landing on my boyfriend looking impenetrable, like a brick wall, in front of the hockey net. “He’s acting fine with me, and still being an ass to Shaw.”
“That sucks,” Ava sympathizes.
“When is Marshall not an ass?” Clover asks. “You and Shaw have been back together for a month now. At this point, he’s just being a baby because he wants his way.”
“It’s true. I love my brother, but he’s difficult at best.”
“Sibling relationships are difficult,” Ava offers. “My sister and I had a lot of issues and it took us a long time to work through them. But now things are better with us.”
“Marshall and I get along great, as long as I don’t do anything he objects to. It’s infuriating. If he keeps it up much longer, I’m going to tell him I’m disowning him. The only reason I haven’t already handed him ass over this is because Shaw doesn’t want me to get involved. He swears it will all work out.”
“Your brother gives new meaning to the word stubborn, though,” Clover chimes in. “Too bad he’s so hot.”
I laugh. I’ve always known Clover had a crush on Marshall, but nothing will ever come of it. Fortunately, she’s too smart to put up with all the bullshit being with him entails.
The fans around us sit up straighter in their seats. You can sense the buzz of excitement in the air as Oliver battles for the puck.
Ava grips my arm nervously. “Get it, Oliver,” she yells, as if he’ll hear her over the thousands of fans who are shouting at the same time in Agganis Arena. He knocks the puck free and Donovan is there to swoop in and steal it away. Passing to Marshall, the black circle is practically a blur. I barely register that my brother has possession before he beams it into the back of the opposing team's net.
The crowd roars as the Terriers take the lead for the first time with only seconds left on the clock.
“Oh God, this is going to give me high blood pressure,” Ava says.
“Hang in there guys,” I mutter, moving to the edge of my seat. Closing my eyes, I send up a prayer that Shaw can keep the puck out of the Terriers’ net.
He’s been worried about this game all week. The opposing team got the best of them the last time they met, and this time the Terriers are hoping for some retribution.
I can barely stand to watch as Donovan tries to steal the puck but has no luck. And when a player is charging toward Shaw, my heart feels like it climbed to my throat.
Covering my mouth and nose with my hands, I’m afraid to move. Time seems to slow down as the player winds up his hockey stick to shoulder height. Swinging the stick forward, he aggressively slaps the ice behind the puck. His stick bending is what gives the slapshot the speed and power it needs to fly through the air.
Shaw’s gloved hand blocks the puck and it falls to the ice and slides about ten feet in front of the net. Another one of their players is there to take control of the puck and get another shot at scoring.
“
Oh shit,” Clover says on one side of me.
“I can’t watch,” Ava mumbles on the other side.
As the player approaches the net, Shaw looks ready. And as he tries to sweep it into the net, I shout, “Block it.”
Shaw keeps the puck from sliding in with his stick just as the time runs out. Jumping to my feet, I bounce up and down, holding on to my friends. Everyone around us is celebrating the Terriers’ victory, and my boyfriend made the block for the win.
We stayed in our seats until the crowd thinned out, and then we headed downstairs to the area where we always meet up after a game.
When I notice Shaw walking toward me, I run to him. He catches me, raising me up, and I wrap my legs around his hips. I crash our lips together and show him how proud and happy I am that he defended so well. My hands run through his freshly showered hair, stirring up his slicked back curls.
“All right, I don’t need to see that shit,” Marshall snarls from behind me.
I straighten my legs and Shaw sets me down before I whirl around to face Marshall. Instead of the angry expression I’m expecting to find, he’s grinning, and it throws me off. I look to Shaw and he smiles, shrugging.
I cross my arms and stare at Marshall until he speaks. “All is well, sister. Your man and I kissed and made up. We’re now best friends once more.”
“About fucking time,” Clover calls out.
“My sentiments exactly.” I pin Marshall with my angry stare.
“Shouldn’t you be smiling, Maddie?” he questions.
“You put my guy through hell for the past month. Why should I smile?”
Shaw moves forward, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. “It’s okay, babe. I made him work for it.”
“Oh, yeah,” Oliver jumps in, “he did some serious grovelling.”
I look to Marshall. “I trust you’ll be on your best behavior moving forward, brother.”
“When it comes to you guys, sure. But when it comes to everything else, no fucking way.”
Shaw leans his head on mine. “Let’s get out of here. I could use some time with my girl and our little guy.”
“Gross, I don’t want to know your pet names for your dick,” Marshall jokes.
Shaw laughs. “Poor Buddy’s probably wondering where we are by now.”
Marshall gestures toward Shaw and me. “Since these two are lame, who wants to head out for a drink or two? Maybe even three or four?”
Oliver looks to Ava before agreeing to go. Ava grabs Clover’s arm. “You’re coming too.”
We exit the arena and separate. Shaw and I head to his truck.
He pins me against the side, nuzzling the tip of his nose along the side of mine. I breathe in the scent of his soap and pull him closer.
“I’m so proud of you, Shaw. You were amazing tonight.”
“You know I always dreamed of playing for the Terriers, but having you there with me makes it so much better.”
“When you blocked that final goal, everyone was cheering, and all I could think of was ‘that’s my man.’”
“I am your man and always will be.”
“And I’m your girl.”
He nods. “Damn right. Life is good.”
“No.” I shake my head. “Life is great.”

They call him ‘Wilde Man’. Rumor has it he’s an animal on the ice and between the sheets.
Like the rest of the female population, I’ve been crushing on Clancy Wilde, the captain of Boston University’s hockey team, since the first time I saw him. Big, blond, and charming, he ticks all the boxes.
When we find ourselves at a wedding, drunk and flirting, I know I can finally check this tattooed, bad boy, hockey player off my wish list.

Chapter One
Tenley
August
Leaning back against the bar, I sip my wine and glance around the poolside wedding reception. My friend just married the man of her dreams and I can’t even land a date with a decent guy. Smiling faces surround me while couples dance closely and contentedly in each other’s arms. Romance fills the air and I’m standing here drowning my sorrows, contemplating my love life. Or should I say lack thereof?
I haven’t gone on a date in three months. That’s quite a dry spell for a twenty-one-year-old woman. The guy who took me out must have had a change of heart. He was completely into me for weeks, and in the span of two hours his behavior did a sudden one-eighty. He went from flirting madly to thrusting me in the friend zone so fast I got whiplash. To this day, I still wonder what happened.
Was it something I said? Or something I did?
Fuck me. My thoughts are beginning to sound like a cheesy eighties rock ballad.
Turning around, I set my wine glass down and lean my forearms on the bar while I stare out at the beautiful northern Virginia sunset. Painting the sky with vivid slashes of orange, pink, and gold, it’s breathtaking, making it difficult to feel down when there’s so much beauty surrounding me. And the gentle whisper of the evening breeze wafting over my bare shoulders feels like a reassuring caress.
Relax. Loosen up. That’s what I imagine it’s saying to me.
I don’t want to be a killjoy on this happy occasion. It’s not that I’m jealous when people find their happily ever after, like my friend Jane did. She and her new husband are perfect for each other. The two of them belong together and I want her to have nothing but the best. I just wish I had some viable dating options on the horizon, so I could feel better about my own romantic future. I’d even be satisfied if something would happen to give me hope that I won’t be alone forever.
Send me a sign, universe. I’m ready.
A tan, masculine forearm lands on the bar next to mine.
Damn that was quick. Is this my sign?
My eyes wander along the muscular, veined length, stopping when they reach the neatly rolled up shirtsleeves. Turning my head, my gaze continues the trek up his crisp, white, fitted shirt. Snug around his flexed bicep, I wonder if he has any tattoos under that material?
A broad shoulder caps it off so nicely, I’m afraid to look any higher. Whoever this is standing next to me, there’s no way his face can possibly measure up to the rest of him. Why ruin perfection?
Curiosity wins out, though.
Oh well, here goes nothing.
His thick neck is tanned a golden brown and his sculpted lips are twisted into a derisive smirk telling me he’s aware of my thorough perusal. The higher my eyes climb, the faster my heart gallops.
Oh shit.
I know those lips.
I recognize that sexy smirk.
Please be wrong.
Sweeping my gaze up, I connect with roguish hazel orbs. Fuck me. Of all times for me to be right.
Clancy Wilde, my best friend’s cousin, is next to me in the flesh… in his very sexy, two percent body fat flesh.
I let out a gasp before I can hold the sound in.
He chuckles deeply, making my stomach toss turbulently, like rough water on the high seas.
“Something wrong, Tenley?” he questions knowingly. Fuck me. Unfortunately, he’s aware I’ve always harbored a huge crush on him.
Licking my dry lips, I pray my voice still works. “Not a thing.” I aim a tight, close-lipped smile his way and pluck my wine glass from the bar. Tipping it back, I drink down the remainder in one long gulp. One hand raises signaling for the bartender before the o
ther can place the empty glass down.
He sniggers, as if he knows the reason for my discomfort, and my need for more wine. But is it really a secret? He makes me feel off balance and flushed, unlike my usual confident self.
What girl wouldn’t be uncomfortable in this situation?
It feels so grade school that he knows I think he’s ridiculously hot. But I’m pretty sure every girl in the free world feels that way about him.
“Wine?” he arches a dark blond brow and tips his head toward my glass.
“What about it?”
“I just never imagined you as a wine drinker.”
Turning to face him, I lean my arm on the bar and prop my chin on my palm. “What have you imagined me drinking then?” I can’t wait to hear this one.
“Something with a little more kick, a little more fire. It needs to have a hint of sour and plenty of sweet. Something that mimics your personality.”
He thinks I’m fiery and sweet?
“I’m your cousin’s best friend. You live in Boston and I’m in Washington D.C. We’ve probably seen each other a total of ten times over the years. How strange is it that you think of me at all?”
“Ten times? You’ve been counting, Tenley?”
Fucker.
“You wish,” I sass back. I take another sip of my wine, cooling down the heat that being in his company always brings.
Clancy Wilde is my most-embarrassing secret. A frequent topic in my high school journal, I recorded all the cringe worthy facts about him with my favorite purple pen in looping handwriting and i’s dotted with hearts.
